NCDC is desperately seeking RNA extraction kits

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has made an urgent request for RNA extraction kits.

Taking to Twitter, the Director-General of the NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu has tasked the country to help him find some.

The essence is to expand COVID-19 testing.

To make matters easier, he listed all that he needed in this tweet below.

Manufacturers: Qiagen, ThermoFischer, SeeGene, Inqaba, LifeRiver etc.

According to what MyNigeria.com could gather, the RNA extraction kit enables the total RNA extraction from tissues.

"RNA is present in the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is collected, and RNA is precipitated by adding isopropanol," as reported by diagenode.
