The Muslim community has come under fire from a critic on social media for giving Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe a new title.
The talented role interpreter and actress received the title of 'Arowoshadinni' from the ABD Azeez Islamic Foundation.
Online, Mercy Aigbe took to her social media page to announce the good news, reintroduced herself under her new title, and expressed her appreciation for the recognition.
The news wasn't warmly received by a Muslim skeptic who noted how everything in life is now about money. He asserted that the Islam their Prophet had bequeathed for them was not this.
He wrote: “Hmmmm, this is really not the Islam the Prophet left for us anymore. It’s all about money”.
Fans of the actress attacked him and demanded to know why it was improper for her to be honoured.
