Debo Adedayo who is popularly known as Mr. Macaroni has asked Nigerians to disregard calls in certain quarters asking them to cast their votes based on tribal sentiments.

His comment follows the viral video of Lagos-based prophet Israel Oladele Genesis declaring his support for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Asiwaju Tinubu because they are from the same tribal extraction.

The preacher of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) declared that he can't be a Yoruba boy and vote for Igbo.

He maintains that he doesn't care about those who are against his decision to support the former Lagos State Governor.

The controversial preacher made the disclosure while preaching to his congregation on Sunday, September 11.

He said, “I will vote for Tinubu, I support Tinubu, you like it or not, I don’t care.

“You know me. I am not afraid. Do you know why? Because if I see another Yoruba person, I will support but that is the only Yoruba I have seen.

Reacting to the statement, however, not directly, Mr. Macaroni tweeted: "Dear Nigerians, If your religious leader is asking you to abandon all the qualities of a good leader and vote for the next President of this Nation just because you are from the same tribe as the candidate, then there is serious fire on the mountain. RUN!! Vote Wisely"
