'Mohbad’s toxicology test is ongoing in the US' – Lagos Coroner Court reveals

The coroner's inquest, which was established to look into the circumstances surrounding the death of well-known Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, better known by his stage name, Mohbad has disclosed that the toxicology test is being conducted in the United States.

The disclosure was made on Wednesday, November 20, 2023, before the Lagos Coroner court sitting at Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, by the state attorney, O. Akinde.

Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi Akinde stated that the toxicology test is being carried out in the United States of America while speaking to the coroner.

He began by stating that ascertaining the reason for the demise of the late music icon is the most important part of an autopsy.

He continued by saying that although the autopsy on the deceased's external body was finished, the toxicology test which dealt with the internal body was still being conducted in the United States.

He revealed this after TNKay Music Worldwide's David Nawoola and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu, insisted on it, as did the father of the deceased, David Fadimu.

However, given that toxicology laboratories exist in Nigeria, the coroner, Magistrate Shotobi, questioned why the toxicology was conducted overseas.
