Mixed reactions from Muslim community as Seyi Vibez samples Quran in his music video

There has been mixed reactions from the Muslim community after singer, Seyi Vibez used a Quranic verse in his latest music video.

A Muslim community calling themselves 'Nigerianmuslim' took to Instagram to condemn Seyi Vibez over the use of the Quran in his song after he shared a snippet of his music video for his 2023 debut single 'Yoga'.

On its Instagram page the group wrote; "Some concerned Muslims have come together to condemn the use of the Qur’an in a music video snippet and appeal to the producer of the song to remove the Qur’an recitation before the video is officially released."

Some Muslims who were appalled by the act called out the singer and asked him to take out the Quranic verse out of the song. Also urged him to apologise to the Muslim community.

Other Muslims have also counted their colleagues claim saying Seyi Vibez is only promoting Islam and that they should see it as a singer who knows his root as a Mulsim.

aliyu_mp: I have gone through the comments, it seems it’s some people that from a specific part of the country that are trying to dispute that this guy totally wrong, Wallahi what he did is very wrong, you don’t joke with the holy Quran, you’re not even allowed to recite or listen to the Holy Quran where there is noise and the having the guts to make part of his music, and then you try to justify his act, it has no justification, please always try and seek for knowledge before commenting on sensitive issues like this
