Nigerian beauty queen and Miss Universe 2024 second runner-up, Chidimma Adetshina, has spoken up about her difficult journey to the world stage and the mental health issues she encountered.
The beauty queen's reputation as a pioneer in international beauty pageants was cemented when she won the title of Miss Africa and Oceania in addition to her outstanding performance.
Chidimma Adetshina discussed her ascent in the pageant industry in an exclusive interview with the BBC, acknowledging that she never dreamed of placing in the top two.
She said, “I had already made peace with being in the top 30. That alone felt like a victory to me.”
The beauty queen acknowledged that the stressful event left her emotionally spent and talked candidly about her current mental health issues. She acknowledged that "not many people understand what I went through" and said she is considering going to therapy to work through the highs and lows of her experience.
Notwithstanding the difficulties, Chidimma's accomplishments have motivated innumerable admirers, solidifying her status as an inspiration and a representation of fortitude.
