Mercy Chinwo reportedly leaves record label

Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has reportedly left her record label, EeZee Concepts, over a contract disagreement with the label’s owner, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu Thankgod.

The 32-year-old singer shared a cryptic message on Instagram, saying, “God protect us from people who are being strategic with us while we are being genuine with them.”

Fellow gospel singer Joepraize and Chioma Jesus showed support for Mercy in the comment section.

Mercy Chinwo was signed to EeZee Concepts in 2017 after winning Nigerian Idol season two in 2012. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with the song “Excess Love.” Other gospel artists signed to the label include Judikay, Chidinma Ekile, Minister GUC, Chris Morgan, and Tobi Godwin. Mercy recently got married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa of Water Brooks Church in Port Harcourt.

It has been reported that Mercy Chinwo signed a fake contract with EeZee Concepts, leading to the disagreement between her and the label owner. All deals have reportedly been taken down as a result.
