'Many useless women bring nothing to the table' - Pastor Olumide

Pastor Olumide Emmanuel, founder of Calvary Bible Church has asserted that cultural values affect marriages.

According to the man of God, women's upbringing and orientation create a manner of life that prevents them from supporting their spouses when necessary.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwon, the man of God said that many women don't have anything worthwhile to contribute since they've been raised to believe that males should take care of the family.

Pastor Olumide underlined that although many women get the same education and are paid equally as males after they get married, they are completely dependent on their spouse for everything, including providing for their extended family.

He said: Many people don’t realize that culture affects marriages so in this part of the world a lot of people are brought up to believe that the man is the provider so you see a lot of women you went to school I went to school, you graduated I graduated you work for seven years I work for seven years now when I’m meeting you you expect me to have a house a car and have money to take care of you, your father, mother, brother

"What are you doing with your money of seven years? So we have a lot of useless women that are bringing nothing to the table but they’ll tell you I am the table"

Recall that the marriage between Pastor Olumide and his first wife Ify fell apart in 2005 after they were blessed with 2 children.

The incident sparked a lot of discussion in the media. Many Christians were shocked and wondered what could have caused the couple's relationship to end.

In 2023, Pastor Olumide revealed why his marriage with his estranged wife crashed and why he never saw their two children since his wife left home in 2006.

He stated that top church leaders including Dr Daniel Olukoya and Bishop David Oyedepo tried to save the marriage but could not.
