The singer, who rarely discusses his father in interviews, has not responded to the viral video.

Netizens have shared their thoughts on the issue.

olivia__davids: Rumor has it that he abandoned Ashake from childhood.
Deal with the consequences of your actions sir.

kelvin_kertz_: Boys grow up to understand their fathers, so if your son grows up and still wants nothing to do with you, that tells us everything about the kind of father you were. Go be with the ones you chose over him when he was young.

straight_2_d_point: If he turned out to be an agbero would the story be the same?

iam_breemay: You sef go hustle. If he no blow, you for dey find am???

alimosanwiyy: Whether or not your parents were there for you, it is not your battle to abandon them, especially if you become successful. You did not attain the success by yourself without God’s help and there’s a reason for that. You could have failed in whatever field you chose, but God made you successful. Some people worked twice as hard as you did and they failed in life and their parent may not have abandoned them when they were kids. An English football player who has a Nigerian dad did the same to his dad when he was at the top of his career and his career nosedived. He’s nowhere to be found now. DO NOT PLAY GOD’S ROLE WHEN IT CONCERNS YOUR PARENTS.

youlove_misslo: Typical. Man abandons child. Child becomes successful. Man wants a “relationship” with child
