A man identified as Mr. David Manuel Adebayo has shared a shocking testimony of how he survived an armed robbery attack after withdrawing ₦9 million from a bank in Niger State.

According to Adebayo, the incident occurred on Friday, March 6, shortly after he left the bank and was about to start his car. At that moment, the two armed robbers reportedly ambushed him and forcefully took the money he had withdrawn.

Recounting the ordeal, Adebayo said that despite the frightening situation, he began praying in tongues because he was observing a fast at the time. He explained that after the robbers seized the cash, he summoned courage and approached one of them.

“I went directly to meet one of them. God gave me the grace to collect the ammunition from him. They were firing at me, but I don’t know how God saved me,” he said.

Adebayo stated that he managed to grab the gun from one of the robbers even though he had never handled a firearm before. He added that he then moved toward their vehicle and fired shots while declaring that the car would not move if he truly served the God of his father.

He noted that the armed robbers could not go with their car and, by extension, had to run away with his own car instead.

Determined to recover what he could, he told people around him that the car would be found as he further stressed his belief in God.

He was later informed that the armed robber had dropped his vehicle to a bush near Lokoja, where it had been abandoned. Although the attackers got away with the cash, Adebayo said he was grateful that he survived the incident, revealing that a bullet only grazed his clothing.

“I thank God that my life was preserved,” he said.

During the testimony session in church, Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor and general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, advised Adebayo to be cautious about sharing personal financial information with others.

The cleric also urged him to continue thanking God for sparing his life, reminding him that money can be replaced but life cannot. The testimony left members of the congregation in shock as they joined him in giving thanks to God.
