'Make everybody getat; I've contributed more to Nigeria than any candidate - Burna Boy

Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy, has received knocks from some Nigerians over his silence on the election issues.

A critic identified as Ayodeji Rotinwa, took to social media to call out the singer over his refusal to be involved in the election exercise.

According to him, Burna Boy position himself as a politically conscious artist who care about positive change and has profited off it internationally.

He said the singer's brand was built on the backs of Nigeria's corruption tag, colonial hang-ups and fight for power.

Reacting to the post, Burna Boy said he does not believe in any of the three candidates and that he didn’t publicly campaign for any candidate because he doesn’t want to be held accountable if the candidate fails in office.

The critic went on to advice Burna Boy to own his political apathy and warned the singer not to wear the freedom fighter uniform when it is convenient for him.

Responding, Burna Body claimed that he has positively contributed more to Nigeria than the 3 presidential candidates so he has every right to tell people to shut up.

Burna wrote,

“Why una mumu like this? First of all sir. Out of the hundreds of songs I have, there are only about 7 songs about these topics and they barely made me any money at all. #2. l’ve positively contributed more to Nigeria than you and all 3 candidates combined and neither me nor my parents have ever taken a kobo from the government for any reason. so I’m more than qualified to tell people like you to shut the fuck up when vou don’t know what your talking about.”
