Mohammad Baydoun, a well-known Lebanese chef also known as Amazing Chef, has revealed why he moved to Nigeria to further his culinary profession.

The renowned restaurateur admitted that he relocated to Nigeria after landing a position in Lagos.

Amazing Chef discussed his love for the vibrant atmosphere and the nation itself in an interview with The Guardian.

“I moved to Lagos because I got a job offer. I like the vibe and the country. It has this amazing vibe and I have what it takes to match the energy,” he said.

When asked why he likes working in Nigeria, he cited the favorable climate, rich soil, pure air, and high-quality water that help produce outstanding fruits and vegetables in the country.

He said: “I like to work in Nigeria because it has good soil, air and water which helps to grow amazing fruit and vegetables and they also have amazing meats,”

He relocated to Nigeria in 2018 and quickly became enamored of amala, gbegiri, and ewedu.

According to him his admiration for these traditional Nigerian meals arose after he saw an elderly woman prepare them deftly from scratch while he was present at a Lagos gathering (Owambe).
