A Nigerian man has stirred up debate on social media following his discovery that he is not the biological father of his wife's two-year-old son.

The man claimed that he married his wife, who already had a six to seven-year-old child out of wedlock and decided to take care of the child as his.

The wife gave birth to a second child a few months after their marriage, which he thought was his.

He claimed to have had several challenges, including losing his work, receiving loans from friends and family who subsequently viewed him as a burden, being unable to pay the rent on their home or even providing his family with necessities.

The man noted that when things went from bad to worse and he was forced to rely entirely on his wife, life became unbearable for him.

Using his own experience as a point of reference, he advised men to always pay attention to warning signs in relationships since ignoring them could spell disaster for them.

Netizens responded to the information in a variety of ways, criticizing the woman for her inhumane 'devilish' act. Some also advocated for the enactment of legislation against paternity fraud in the nation.
