Popular Nigerian social critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has said that Nigeria's commercial city, Lagos State, is the reason the country is not progressing.
In a video shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan argued that much focus is given only to Lagos, leaving other states deprived of great opportunities, adding that investments and activities are mostly conducted in the state.
Using the seaport as an example, he argued that several states are suitable for sea-based imports but remain underdeveloped due to the government's neglect.
According to him, Lagos dominates everything, from major companies to the entertainment industry, so much that Lagos could be considered a country of its own.
VeryDarkMan also urged the Igbo people and reasonable Nigerians to demand a fairer distribution of economic opportunities nationwide.
He further appealed to the federal government to establish at least three new seaports and 13 additional international airports in other key states, stressing that decentralisation would drive growth and benefit the entire country.
