A man who identified himself as a LASTMA official has narrated what he claimed happened on the morning of August 4, involving late actress Temitope Osoba.

According to his account:

“On August 4, at about 9am, we were on the road controlling traffic when suddenly a woman jumped out of a vehicle behind a bus we had stopped.

"She was wearing a Celestial Church garment and immediately started running towards us, screaming for help.

"She alleged that the people inside the vehicle had abducted her and were taking her somewhere to kill her.

"We immediately instructed the driver of the korope (commercial minibus) to pull over so we could understand what was happening.

"That was when we realised that the woman asking us for help was actress Temitope Osoba.

"Another woman, who was also wearing a Celestial garment, came out of the same vehicle.

"Temitope alleged that her husband, whom she referred to as Oluso, and the other woman were involved in a plan against her.

"She further alleged that money donated to her by Nigerians — which she claimed was more than ₦50 million — had been collected by her husband.

"When we questioned the second woman, she reportedly said she was a member of Temitope's family. Temitope disputed this and claimed that the woman was actually her hairdresser who knew a lot about what had been happening.

"Temitope also claimed that she had pretended to cooperate with them after they got her into the vehicle and that her car keys had been taken from her.

"I asked for the keys to be returned. The woman went back to the vehicle and brought them.

"At that point, we contacted the police and an officer accompanied them to the police station.

"After we finished our duties and later got to the station, we were told that Temitope had been released to people connected to her because that particular police station was reportedly not the station handling the complaints she had previously made.

"We were therefore shocked when, later that same day, we received news that she had died.”
