Veteran musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1 honoured his band's longest-serving member, Fatai Oluperi Ayinla with N20 million.

This took place at the New Year Dance event held at the Balmoral Convention Center Sheraton Ikeja in Lagos on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Oluperi Ayinla was commended by KWAM 1 throughout the performance for his commitment to the band and for being a valuable member.

While praising Oluperi Ayinla, KWAM 1 gave the band member a massive N20 million as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the band's development and commitment.

The assembled audience cheered when the money was presented.

Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo also gave Oluperi Ayinla, the producer of Seven Doors, N500k in addition to the money that KWAM 1 gave him.

Social media users expressed a wide range of opinions in response to KWAM 1's gesture. While some cheered the veteran on, others expressed their disapproval, stating that he shouldn't have given him the money on stage.
