Joke Silva appointed as APC Women Leader

For its women’s presidential campaign, the All Progressive Council (APC), has appointed Silva as chairperson of the committee for the creative and entertainment sectors.

The list was made public on July 4, by Rinsola Abiola, a spokesman for the campaign and the late Moshood Abiola’s daughter.

The names of 944 well-known women and wives of major APC leaders are included on the campaign list.

Joke uploaded a throwback video of herself on her way to the inauguration of the women’s presidential campaign team on Instagram on Friday to celebrate her appointment.

She wrote: ““Flashback to Monday…. on my way to the TINUBU/SHETTIMA Women Presidential Campaign Team inauguration.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as Chairman of the Creative and Entertainment Industries Committee. It is a monumental privilege to be in such a position considering the ever-growing prominence and influence of Nigeria’s creative sector. With so much excitement, I am already envisaging the unprecedented feats that we will achieve together as a people in Nigeria’s creative economy. Come with me! Cheers!”

No fewer than 33 Nollywood and Kannywood actors were included for entertainment in the 70-paged campaign plan.

Among them were seasoned actors such as Princess Kalihat Bello, Remi Oshodi, Mercy Johnson, Rose Odika, Sola Kosoko, Lanre bHassan (Iya Awero), HajiaN as, and Lizzy Jay (Omo Ibadan).
