Nigerian music sensation Joseph Akinfenwaa Donus, known to fans as Joeboy, has opened up about the powerful message in his latest hit, 'Better.'
In an insightful interview with the renowned media personality Vivz, Joeboy shared that the inspiration for 'Better' came from the alarming rates of domestic violence against women.
He expressed his commitment to advocating for women who face marginalization in African societies, emphasizing the need for them to be treated with respect and dignity.
When probed about the deeper meaning of the song's lyrics, Joeboy responded, “It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”
Joeboy also touched upon the dynamics within the Nigerian music industry, noting a tendency for individuals to engage in publicity stunts that undermine others.
He mentioned his personal approach to avoid such negativity by distancing himself from social media and focusing on his music and other positive endeavors.
