JUST IN: Nigeria records 40th COVID-19 infection as NCDC confirms four new cases

Nigeria has confirmed its 40th coronavirus infection after the Nigeria Center for Disease Control - NCDC confirmed four new cases on Monday night.

This is coming after the Federal Government placed a ban on all land restrictions in the country.

According to the NCDC, "ten new confirmed cases of COVID-19" recorded in the country as of On the 23rd of March 2020.

Till date, Forty (40) cases have been confirmed, two cases have been discharged and one death from COVID-19.

Of the Ten (10) new cases, one (1) is in Edo State, two (3) are in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Six (6) are in Lagos State.

According to the NCDC report, the infected patient in Edo State is being treated at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, while cases in the FCT are being treated at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada.

The cases in Lagos State are being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba. All six (6) new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving treatment.

As of March 23, the global record of confirmed cases worldwide stands at more than 378,000 infected people with at least 16,488 deaths.
