A COVID-19 carried has been reportedly spotted in Adamawa State, becoming the first case in the state.

As of Tuesday night, The Nigeria Center for Disease Control - NCDC has recorded a total of 782 infections, 25 deaths, 197 recoveries and 560 active cases, excluding the reported case in Adamawa.

Although the state government and NCDC have not announced this particular case, the patient reportedly confirmed his status in an interview.

According to LEADERSHIP News, the patient is suspected to have contacted the virus in Kano, where he travelled from last week.

He said he had since being in self-isolation until the morning of today, when he was moved to the isolation centre at specialist hospital, Yola.

"Result from my sample collected showed I tested positive to COVID-19," he added.
