Rapper Illbliss has shared his emotional journey to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife waited eight years before welcoming their first child.

Speaking in a recent interview on the Outside The Box podcast, the rapper said they discovered the pregnancy during a hospital visit for what they thought was malaria.

According to him, the news came as a shock because the couple had prayed and waited for years and both he and his wife broke down in tears at the doctor’s office.

“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child,” he said.

Illbliss also spoke about their second daughter, whom he described as a miracle child.

Born prematurely during the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors advised the couple to terminate the pregnancy because the baby was not expected to survive.

As devout Catholics, they refused and held on to their faith.

“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through,” he added.

Today, he says seeing his daughter healthy and thriving remains one of his greatest blessings.
