Top Adeleke family members will receive recognition at the Afro Award on November 6 in Los Angeles, California, amid the mourning of Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Ademola Adeleke, the incoming governor of Osun state, David Adeleke, the well-known afrobeat musician Davido, and Tajudeen Amoo-Adeleke, a legendary African drummer, were among those recognized with the award, according to PM News.
The Adeleke family is receiving the honor as they grieve the loss of their 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who reportedly drowned and passed away on Monday, October 31 in a swimming pool.
Taiwo Oduala, the creator and executive producer of The Afro Awards, confirmed this news.
Others who will as be honored at the ceremony include; Fatima Maada, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, and Ayuko Babu, the creator and CEO of the Pan African Film Festival.
The award will also recognize Seye Kehinde, a Nigerian renowned journalist.
