Veteran rapper, Ruggedman claims to be the first young Nigerian artiste to own a car in the music industry.
He made this statement during an interview with Echo Room, where he discussed his achievements as a Nigerian artiste.
According to the rapper, in 2004, he purchased a BMW for N900,000 before other artistes like P-Square and D-banj.
Ruggedman noted that at that time, artistes who had cars were signed to Kennis Music, and the cars belonged to the company, not the artistes themselves.
He said:
“I bought my BMW for N900,000 in 2004. I was the first young Nigerian artist to own a car before P-Square and D’banj.
“The only artists that had cars then were signed to Kennis Music. They didn’t own the cars. They were only given to them for official use. 2face shared the same car with his labelmates then.”
