'I was shocked Chioma Chukwuka left her hubby' - Pete Edochie on divorce rate in Nollywood, hails Genevieve

The increasing divorce rate in the film industry has angered veteran actor Pete Edochie.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Pete admitted that he was astonished to learn that Chioma Akpotha had split from her spouse.

Ireti Doyle and Tonto Dikeh, two divorced actresses, were also cited by him. He claimed that many people were missing the meaning of marriage because it was about commitment, regardless of the circumstances.

Pete Edochie praises Genevive Nnaji

The seasoned actor during the interview, acknowledged his admiration for Genevive Nnaji, who plays his daughter in some of their movies.

Pete stated that Genevieve sees him as her father and that he sees her as his daughter.

Pete responded to reports that the actress was suffering from mental illness by saying, "I have not heard of her lately ever since I heard she is a little disturbed mentally, I don’t know whether it is true or false, I hope that one day she calls me and say I am ok."
