Afrobeats Diva Tiwa Savage-Balogun has acknowledged that she was anxious during her performance at King Charles III's historic coronation concert and that it nearly destroyed the occasion for her.

Her position as the Queen of Afrobeats and another significant triumph was cemented by being the only Nigerian singer allowed to perform at King Charles III and Queen Camilla's coronation concert at Windsor Castle in England.

For the first time ever, Tiwa Savage received the once-in-a-lifetime chance to play at an English royal coronation.

The event attracted more than 20,000 attendees and was broadcast live to more than 18 million viewers around the world by the BBC.

Tiwa Savage recently acknowledged that she felt nervous for the opening few seconds of her performance at Windsor Castle during an appearance on the Good Morning Britain TV Show.

She said, “It was beautiful to perform for the King. It was such an amazing moment to represent the Commonwealth and to be on that stage.

“I was nervous, I will say the first few seconds. But as soon as I started singing, I said, ‘I have to just get swept away by the crowd’.”
