‘I took poison after my husband impregnated my best friend’ – Omo Local

Yoruba Nollywood actress, Victoria Akanke Ajibola, popularly known as Omo Local, has recalled attempting suicide after her husband impregnated her best friend.

Naija News reports that the thespian, during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, disclosed that her best friend was three months pregnant with her husband’s child while her pregnancy was five months.

Omo Local, who was speaking for the first time on why she divorced her husband, explained that the incident left her traumatised and she attempted suicide because of shame.

She said, “I was five months pregnant, my best friend was also three months pregnant for my husband. The trauma was so much to the extent that I took poison because of shame.”

When asked about the friend, she answered, “Anyway, I don’t know about her whereabouts anymore. Maybe she’s still together with my ex-husband, I don’t know, but they had about three (children) together after I left him.”

During the programme, the comic actor talked about how he viewed education while growing up and how his mindset has changed over time. He explained that as a child, he believed schooling was mainly for parents and did not fully understand that it would shape his own future. According to him, school felt like a form of punishment in those days because he did not see its value.

The actor admitted that he now regrets not pushing his education further when he was younger. He said he has taken steps to return to his studies and is waiting for the outcome of his recent efforts. He added that learning has no age limit and that anyone can decide to continue their education at any stage in life.
