American rapper Kiari Kendrell Cephus, popularly known as Offset, has candidly reflected on his troubled marriage to Cardi B, admitting that his past mistakes and poor decisions played a major role in their separation.
In an emotional appearance on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, the former Migos star opened up about the pressures of being married to another global superstar and how fame magnified their personal struggles.
“I was definitely not perfect. I made a lot of mistakes. I did a lot of wrong, and it’s always on the front screen, so it was hard to move on from it,” Offset confessed.
When host Keke Palmer asked what he would have done differently, the rapper gave a sincere response:
“I should have respected her way more. I made bad decisions as a man, stepping out, and I gotta take that on the chin.
Offset admitted that his actions stemmed from selfishness and immaturity, revealing how fame complicated his personal growth.
“I was being selfish, and I can say that as a man. Sometimes, I acted out of frustration. It feels like you’re getting bullied when the whole world is in your business,” he explained.
The rapper also addressed long-standing rumours that he had an affair with Saweetie while she was dating Quavo, his former Migos bandmate.
Offset dismissed the claims as false, insisting that the situation between him and Quavo was deeper than gossip.
“No, it was rumored, man,” he said. “I feel like it was something deeper than that for the split of me and bro. We’re men; we don’t play those games.”
According to Offset, external influences may have contributed to the tension in both his marriage and his relationship with Quavo.
His emotional revelations come just days after Cardi B opened up about how the collapse of their marriage deeply affected her mental health.
Speaking on the On Purpose podcast, the Grammy-winning rapper described going through one of the darkest periods of her life after the breakup.
