I quit pageantry – Chidimma Adetshina

Chidimma Adetshina, the 1st runner-up in Miss Universe and Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, has announced her decision to leave the world of pageantry.

In an interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina shared that she had a difficult experience during her time in pageantry.

She mentioned that she is quitting for personal reasons and will be moving back to Nigeria from her estranged country, South Africa.

Reflecting on her time at the Miss Universe competition, Adetshina expressed her surprise at making it to the finals and being named the 1st runner-up.

“Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me.

People still don’t understand how I felt. There were times when I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest. I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well.”

Adetshina earned the title of Miss Universe Nigeria after stepping down from the Miss South Africa competition due to questions about her nationality.

Despite the challenges, she went on to become the 1st runner-up at the Miss Universe competition and was also crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
