Artiste and social commentator, Folarin Falana, popularly known as ‘Falz’ said he has never supported Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, or any politician in the running for a major political election.
Falz made this known in a recent interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television on Tuesday, July 21.
He, however, encouraged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to get involved in the 2027 general elections.
“Just a point of correction. I never openly supported Peter Obi or any politician or party in 2023 or at any point. I have actively encouraged people to go out and vote.
“I clamour for a free and fair democratic process. I haven’t stuck out my neck for any politician for obvious reasons.
“I think it’s very important to strengthen our democracy in this country. We’ve been going in cycles, and it just seems like almost the same crop of people we keep on reshuffling, and at the end of the day, it’s tough to even sit anywhere and vouch for a Nigerian politician in 2026,” he said.
