Popular Nigerian socialite and influencer Abiola Adeyemi (Diadem) has revealed how she earns between $3,000 and $5,000 every two weeks from Snapchat, claiming to be the first digital creator in Nigeria to successfully receive direct payouts from the platform.

Speaking during a recent appearance on the Afropolitan Podcast, Diadem opened up about her long-standing relationship with Snapchat, describing it as her preferred platform due to its raw, unedited nature compared to other social media networks.

"Snapchat is my favorite app... because Snap allows me to just share my story, share my life authentically. No sugarcoating anything," Diadem explained. "Things that I would not naturally even post on Instagram, I post on Snap."

She recounted how her early verification on the platform roughly five years ago eventually led to Snapchat contacting her about monetization eligibility.

Unlike many creators who struggled with payout logistics, she completed the necessary financial documentation to receive direct transfers.

"I was the first creator to be paid on Snap in Nigeria that started getting money," she stated. "I just did my thing, filled out the forms... You have to be up to date with your taxes and everything. I can just be in my bed, I cash out $3,000, $5,000 from Snap every two weeks. It depends on how you post."

Snapchat expanded its monetization programs, including its Spotlight Challenges and Stories Revenue Share Plan, to reward high-performing global creators based on engagement, views, and posting consistency.

However, many African content creators face payment processing hurdles, tax documentation barriers, or regional restrictions when attempting to withdraw earnings from Western tech platforms.
