Nollywood actress Ene Ogiri has responded after her sister, Sonia, reportedly threatened to sue her over comments she made about poolside bikini pictures Sonia posted online.
According to Ogiri, Sonia gave her a 24-hour ultimatum to take down her video and issue a public apology or face a lawsuit.
However, Ene defiantly asked for the ultimatum to rather be 12 hours, stating that she is waiting for the suit.
"Sonia, you said if I don't take down the post within 24 hours and make a video of an apology, she is suing me. Sonia, please make it 12 hours. I'm waiting for that lawsuit," she said.
She argued that since the photos were posted publicly, commenting on them isn't a legal issue.
"Tell your lawyer if I hacked your phone or it is public information. When you hear people say 'Google it,' that means it's public information. Your nude is public. It's not about me. My talking about it does not make any difference,"she said.
Ogiri also gave background on the sisters' strained relationship, revealing that Sonia had unfollowed her on Instagram years ago after growing tired of her repeated criticism of her dress sense.
"I've been on Sonia's case for this indecent dressing for years. Then she unfollowed me on Instagram. And I unfollowed her too," she said, adding that she came across the recent post organically through Facebook.
Despite the public back-and-forth, Ogiri insisted the disagreement wouldn't affect the sisters' bond.
"Sonia Ogiri, nothing will make me ever regret you being my sister, but I will tell you the truth," she said, while warning that if Sonia pursued legal action against her, she would respond in kind.
