I’m the only singer who stops people from spraying me money – Seun Kuti

Afrobeats musician Seun Kuti has asserted that he is the only performer in Nigeria that stops fans from spraying money at him.

The afrobeats singer made this statement in a recent video he posted to his Instagram account.

Additionally, Seun Kuti claimed that many musicians, especially Fuji musicians, sing praises to fans throughout their performances just to get sprayed with money.

He said: “I don’t even like to be sprayed. I’m the only artist that stops people from spraying me. Even my dad, the legendary Fela didn’t prevent people from spraying him but he demanded the denominations he wanted to be sprayed.

“Nobody wey Sunny Ade never sing for so he can be sprayed. Everybody name. KWAM 1 … eh eh. It is the politicians that made spraying a standard behaviour.”

Seun made this accusation amid the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission's (EFCC) campaign against those who misuse Naira.

Recall that Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison without a fine option after he was found guilty of mutilating naira notes.

Also, celebrity barman Cubana Chiefpriest was arrested and arraigned in court after a video of him spraying money at an event emerged and the EFCC dragged him to court. He was granted a N10 million bail after the arraignment.
