I'm single, not ready to jump into a relationship - Basketmouth reveals

Popular comedian Bright Okpocha better known as Basketmouth in a widely shared Instagram post that has been deleted announced the news of his divorce from his wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, on December 22, 2022.

The renowned stand-up comedian who is performing a rib-cracking concert in Ghana dubbed "Unprovoked" has professed his love for the country of West Africa, its women, and its language.

Following his breakup with Elsie, Basketmouth said in an interview with Ghanaian media personality Andy Dosty on Tuesday, March 28, that he is single and intends to give himself some time before entering into a new relationship.

He said: "Twi is an amazing language, I am going to learn more. On my way here, I said to myself, wouldn't it be cool to learn the language and come stay here for like a year? You know, just chill, get married to a Ghana woman and stuff," he laughed.

"I am single but you know I am just kidding. I am not ready to jump into anything just yet...maybe am not kidding, who knows."

Recall that Basketmouth and his ex-wife co-parent three kids after living together for more than ten years.

Basketmouth who is hugely popular in Ghana and across the continent, revealed plans to end his active comedic career within the next five years.
