Veteran actor, Pete Edochie, has said he does not have a favourite actor because he considers himself bigger than his colleagues.

Edochie stated this while speaking with comedian Isbae U on his online show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, in a newly released episode.

When asked to name his favourite actor, Edochie said he could not pick one because he considered himself bigger than all of them.

The actor also spoke about people who have claimed to be older than him in the industry, saying he had never felt the need to respond to such claims.

“People have been writing that they are older than me in the industry, but I don’t respond,” he said.

The actor was also asked about people who believed they were on the same level with him, to which he challenged anyone who held such a view to come forward and say so.

“Whoever said they are of the same level with me should come out and say it,” he said.

His comments come amid previous claims by actor, Yemi Solade, that he began acting before Edochie.

Solade had said that although Edochie was older than him, he started acting before the veteran actor, whom he described as a senior colleague.

The issue resurfaced when Solade appeared on Curiosity Made Me Ask, where he maintained that he began acting before Edochie.

Edochie, however, did not mention Solade by name while speaking about people who had claimed to have seniority over him or considered themselves to be on the same level.

Speaking about being described as a legend, Edochie said he was unsure of what people meant by the term but appreciated the recognition.

“I don’t know the definition of people’s legend, but I’m glad to be celebrated,” he said.

The veteran actor also revealed that he was already established professionally before venturing into acting, adding that he eventually retired as a Director of Programmes.

With a career spanning several decades, Edochie remains one of the most recognisable figures in Nollywood, having featured in numerous films and TV series.
