After an eight-year hiatus from acting, Nollywood icon Genevieve Nnaji has expressed excitement over joining the BBC psychological thriller, ‘Wahala’.
Nnaji, whose last on-screen role was in the 2018 film ‘Lionheart’, described the production and storyline as compelling.
“I’m very happy to be joining ‘Wahala’ and to be working with such a brilliant team. It’s an intriguing story, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” Nnaji said.
Set between present-day London and Nigeria, 'Wahala' follows the lives of four Nigerian-British women navigating friendship, careers, love and hidden secrets.
The all-female cast includes Adelayo Adedayo, Deborah Ayorinde, Cush Jumbo and Susan Wokoma.
The six-part drama is adapted from the bestselling novel Wahala by Nikki May and written by BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Theresa Ikoko.
