'I love his policy, he knows the best' - Seyi Law defends President Tinubu

Veteran comedian and political commentator Seyi Law has ignited reactions on social media after publicly declaring his support for President Bola Tinubu's policy.

In a viral clip shared on X, Seyi Law praised the president for his leadership style and spending discipline, noting that Tinubu is not a flamboyant leader as many portray him to be.

While acknowledging that he also suffers from the current government's economic policies, he clarified that he loves the policy, adding that the president knows exactly what he's doing.

“I love Tinubu's policies. It's affecting me too, but he knows best. The president is not flamboyant, and I love the fact that he didn’t go for a Maybach. He went for an Escalade, which is not expensive. There was a reason for buying a new jet.”

The comedian’s remarks immediately sparked heated reactions across social media, with many Nigerians divided over his comments.

@john_uduakobong___"Seyi Law's defense of Tinubu's policies is like trying to sell a broken umbrella in a rainstorm—nobody's buying it, and we're all still getting wet"

@Clems_Andy___"Supporting the APC seems to affect one’s thinking, you begin to sound irrational without even realising it, and before you know it, you're completely disconnected from reality."

@Caesarinny___"This is the problem with celebrity bootlicking.
You’re praising a man for “not buying a Maybach” while the country is drowning in hardship. That Escalade alone could feed hundreds. Stop dressing up §h!tty governance as humility, poverty shouldn’t come with applause."

@Abdulsalam5476___"This man is chasing clout; many affected by Tinubu’s policies lack a platform to express their suffering."

@Laycorn12___"Aren’t Maybachs and Escalades basically the definition of ostentatious rides? Abeg, make this one rest jare. You can't defend the indefensible"

@TruthBeToldOO1___"Seyi Law, you're out here defending a ₦995 million Escalade as "not expensive" while Nigerians are starving? Your family's in the UK, so you feel the "pain" of exchanging naira for pounds? Spare us the crocodile tears. Truth be told, this is peak hypocrisy."

@I_AM_ADEYEMIE___"Interesting how we normalize government spending while citizens struggle with basic needs."
