'I'll bring Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time' - Tiwa Savage excited to perform at King Charles' coronation

Nigerian Afrobeats songstress Tiwa Savage will perform at the eagerly anticipated King Charles III coronation concert.

The concert, which is slated for Sunday, May 7 on the grounds of Windsor Castle, will feature renowned musicians from all around the world.

King Charles III will officially be crowned on Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey.

King Charles III will be crowned alongside Queen Consort Camilla at the ceremony, which comes after the demise of Charles III's mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.

The 'Somebody's Son' singer will perform at the occassion alongside Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings and Alexis Ffrench.

The Afrobeats diva, who is the first woman to win an MTV Europe Music Award as Best African Act expressed her excitement about the invitation.

She said, “It’s truly an honour to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such an historic event.

"I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time."
