Controversial street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has sparked widespread reaction online after openly declaring that his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is backed by a paid political endorsement.
In a video shared on his social media handles, the Zazuu Zeh crooner addressed his followers directly, explaining that his previous inability to give out money on the streets was due to financial hardship.
Portable disclosed that he has now received financial backing to actively campaign for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections and invited his fans to join him at upcoming political gatherings to share in the benefits.
"I was broke before, and that’s why I wasn’t spraying money or showing love to people on the street. But now, I’ve been paid to campaign for Tinubu.
"I’ve collected the money, I have money now, and I’m ready to show love to the street. I’m fully supporting Tinubu now," Portable stated.
The singer urged his supporters to turn out en masse for the party's upcoming state rallies, promising an energetic performance and financial giveaways.
"You will see me at APC state rally. Come in your numbers. Let us come and enjoy the money," he added.
Portable has previously voiced support for President Tinubu and the ruling party, having performed at various campaign stops during the 2023 election cycle.
