I don't think it was credible - Davido speaks on 2023 Election

Nigerian music sensational, David Adeleke, known by his stage name as Davido has shared his thoughts on the recently concluded Presidential and Governorship elections held on February 25 and March 19 respectively.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Lagos-based Beat FM, the singer disclosed that he personally feels the elections lacked credibility and he was happy about the low voter turnout.

The 30-year-old however added that the safety of Nigerians is paramount above all.

“I’m happy that people were not really coming out. You know if I was online, I would have been really vocal about it (the election). I have always been vocal about it.

“But, I mean, I was happy about it. That’s just being honest.”

“It’s what it is! But I personally don’t feel like that was really a credible election. You know what I’m saying? I feel like the most important thing is the safety of life of everybody. But in all, that wasn’t it. So, I don’t think I will be able to hide that. I can’t hide that,” Davido added.

Davido dropped his much-anticipated album, Timeless on Friday, March 31.
