Ex Presidential adviser Doyin Okupe's son Bolu has asked Africans especially Nigerians to stop been delusional and show respect.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Bolu said that been gay is not a choice and people should stop been delusional.

He stated that people have been in the known of the gays and lesbians amongst them especially having tomboys or boys acting feminine. He urged people to stop using religion as a form of excuse to punish members of the LGBTQ community.

"I also think that we all have to stop acting delusional, especially with Africans. you guys are not delusional, you know that gay men and women are around you, you know. You’ve all been kids, growing up, you’ve seen maybe that slightly feminine boy in your classroom, or maybe you’ve seen that masculine tomboy girl. We may be a minority but you know we exist. So we really have to stop been delusional or letting religion cloud your judgment."

"Some people think it’s a choice but that’s really not the case. This is some of the things I'm trying to get across. It's not a choice, its never was and never will be. The only choice is if we are going to hide it or not, and I choose to stop hiding it."

According to him, he urged people to respect his decision and that he is no longer bothered by what they say, think or whether he is liked or cared for.

"Personally I've given up trying to convince people. I've given up trying to convince Africans or Nigerian people that I’m normal or you people should accept me or like me. I've given up on all that. I really don’t care what you think. I really don’t care if you like me or not at this point, the only thing I'm trying to fight for or speak about is just respect."

Not too long ago Bolu Okupe who resides in France took to social media to announce that he is gay. His comment sparked several outbursts within and outside Nigeria.

His father, the former Presidential adviser also took to the same medium to condenm his son. Although prayed for him to change.
