'I believe in Renewed Hope agenda' - Tonto Dikeh defends her decamp to APC

Nollywood actress and past nominee for Rivers State's deputy governorship Tonto Dikeh has defended her affiliation with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The movie star was introduced by the APC women's leader as the newest member of the party

Tonto Dikeh was formally welcomed to the party when the news was announced in a statement on the party's Twitter page.

Reactions to her decampment were divided, with many criticizing her for being a hypocrite.

Speaking now, Tonto Dikeh said that she has seen over the years that visionary leaders who give selflessly to benefit society are the source of effective leadership.

She is completely focused on the advancement of Nigeria, her home country, and the young people of this enormous country as a whole.

The mother of one claims that joining the APC is a victory for all Nigerians, hope and challenges included.

She stated her belief in Nigeria's prosperity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Agenda."
