How some Nigerian celebrities reacted to arrest of ‘gays’ conducting a wedding ceremony in Delta

The arrest of some young men connected to a gay wedding in Delta State has prompted reactions from many Nigerian celebrities.

On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, more than 100 people were detained by the Delta police command in Asaba for allegedly taking part in a gay wedding ceremony that took place in the state.

The aforementioned suspects were then paraded by security personnel, and some of them were interviewed by journalists.

Celebrities like Chinedu Ikedie better known as Aki, Victoria Inyama, Uche Maduagwu, Georgina Onuoha, and Mr. Funny posted comments on the development on social media.

Georgina Onuoha wrote: “Leave these people alone. They did not kill, steal or harm anyone.

“They are not the cause of Nigeria’s demise and predicaments. Let them live their lives. You that are busy committing fraud, sleeping around with married men and women, lying etc You are no better than these folks living their lives. Until many of you work in the medical field and understand the mechanisms behind sexual orientation, you will continue to live by the preachings of hate many con artist who call themselves pastors have poured into you as preachings.”

Uche Maduagwu wrote: “This is so unfair.”

Chinedu Ikedieze wrote: “Na wa oh, wetin dis economy dey cause”

Victoria Inyama wrote: “Parade the poor ones whilst idolising the rich ones. Make it make sense.”

Mr. Funny wrote: “the devil is a liar.”
