Popular UK-based medical practitioner Dr. Funmi has publicly criticized relationship expert and cleric Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo following reports that his matchmaking platform charges men up to ₦700,000 for access.
The controversy surfaced after Pastor Okonkwo invited men who feel dating is out of reach to join his network, promoting it as an avenue to connect with "godly, well-mentored ladies from all over the world."
Taking to X, Dr. Funmi with the handle @OurFavOnlineDoc, strongly condemned the exorbitant fees, comparing the matchmaking operation to commercial procurement:.
"A ‘man of God’ in Nigeria is charging men money to link them up with women on his website. The pastor is asking someone to pay 700k naira for link up with women… How is this different from what pimps do? Pastor dey run hookup platform," he posted.
The allegation comes just days after Pastor Okonkwo made headlines for lamenting the "commercialization" of modern relationships.
