Nollywood came together in a show of grief and solidarity as colleagues, friends and admirers gathered to bid farewell to veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Among those present at the funeral rites were veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Abbey Lanre and Segun Ogungbe, who joined the family and loved ones in paying their final respects to the late actor.

One of the most emotional moments came when Yinka Quadri broke down in tears at the burial of his lifelong friend and colleague.

The veteran actor, who shared decades of friendship and professional history with Ogogo, struggled to contain his emotions as he mourned his colleague.

Another touching moment came when veteran actress Madam Saje became emotional while paying tribute to the late actor.

The outpouring of grief highlighted the deep bond Ogogo shared with many of his colleagues throughout his decades-long career in the Nigerian film industry.

Actor and filmmaker Kunle Afolayan also paid tribute to Ogogo in a social media post, sharing a video of the late actor with the caption:

«“This is how I will remember you till I join you. Rest well Baba.”»

Meanwhile, actor Segun Ogungbe was also captured arriving at the burial ceremony as Nollywood colleagues gathered to honour the veteran.

The funeral was further marked by a massive display of support from residents of Ilaro, with local bikers forming a convoy as Ogogo’s remains were transported towards the burial site.

The scenes reflected the impact Ogogo had both within Nollywood and among the wider community, as colleagues and fans came together to celebrate his life and mourn his passing.

For many of his colleagues, the funeral was not only a farewell to a veteran actor but also a painful goodbye to a friend, brother and industry icon.
