How Davido goes against the words of Jesus when he does charitable deeds

Davido Davido

Today, many fans of singer Davido consider him to be a man who is very generous with his wealth, going by how they praise him every time he makes a headline for his charitable deeds.

The singer recently fulfilled his promise of N1million to Shoki Shitta who was beaten by Baruwa Eleniyan for hyping him over his rival Wizkid. He also publicized buying cars for some of his crew members, a thing many who read the news considered to be great and kind of him.

However, what the praise singers don't know about Davido is that his charitable deeds aren't really geered towards helping those he helped. He only does those things to get reward of praises from men.

The opinion of this article on Davido is based on the the words of Jesus Christ concerning how we should go about our charitable deeds.

Now, let's juxtapose the actions of Davido alongside the words of Jesus Christ as seen in the book of Mathew chapter 6.

Matthew 6 6 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

As seen above, Davido goes contrary to the words of Jesus when he does his alms or charitable deeds. This is because he intentionally publicize his acts to be seen of men. The second verse of the Bible passage reads:

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Everyone gets to hear about the charitable deeds Davido does, that's why he gets praised by many for such. This is contrary to the verse below.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Clearly. Davido is not in the business of seeking reward from God for his charitable deeds. That's why he let's the whole world know when he does charitable deeds so that they can reward him with praises. What he doesn't know is that the praises he gets as reward from men are empty and can't be compared to the reward he will get if he does his charitable deeds according to how God commanded.
