Tiwa Savage and Davido

Nigerian afrobeats singer Tiwatope Omolara Savage better known as Tiwa Savage has written a letter to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayode Adegoke Mustapha regarding an alleged threat made against her by fellow musician Davido.

The dispute began when the two unfollowed each other on Instagram. Many people assumed that Davido had unfollowed Tiwa due to the latter's closeness with his baby mama, Sophia Momodu, with whom he is currently at odds.

Things however, took a bad turn when Teebillz, the ex-husband of Tiwa Savage, threatened to discipline Davido for "disrespecting his family."

However, Tiwa said Davido became irate with her because she shared clips of herself and Sophia on her Instagram account on December 23, 2023 in a letter dated January 9 that was written to the commissioner.

According to Tiwa, Davido contacted her manager and accused her of making fun of him. She also claimed that Davido insulted her by calling her "malicious and derogatory words to my person."

The single mother stated that she was informed Davido is angry that she decided to stay in touch with Sophia in spite of their disagreements.

Part of the statement read: “The events of the day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connection asking me what I did to Mr David Adeleke that he is upset that I choose to maintain a relationship with Imaed’s mother who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor. He also told our mutual connections to warn me to ‘be careful in Lagos because he is going to f*ck me up,” parts of the letter read.

Tiwa went on to say that Davido ought to be held accountable should anything happen to her and her family.
