Some Nigerians living in Texas in the United States have been seen in a video rejoicing and shouting up NEPA after the power supply was restored in their home.

Texas has been experiencing a severe winter storm which has caused widespread power outages to millions of homeowners in the state.

However, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which operates the state's power grid on Thursday, February 18, said it had made significant progress restoring power to many homes.

But ERCOT stated that rotating outages may be needed over the next couple of days.

A group of Nigerians who were delighted over the restoration of power rejoiced the Nigerian way by shouting up NEPA.

Members of the group were seen in a video shared on Twitter jumping with their hands raised up while hailing NEPA for the return of power.

NEPA is an acronym for the defunct National Electric Power Authority, which is associated with regular power outages.

Presently, citizens in Nigeria often shout up NEPA whenever electricity supply is restored.

The hilarious video of the Nigerians celebrating has generated huge reactions from citizens who made jokes over the footage.
