Concerned Nigerians group convener and activist Comrade Deji Adeyanju has urged Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), to use a portion of the N6.5 billion in election funds that were contributed to him in 2023 to help the ailing veteran Nollywood actor John Ikechukwu Okafor also known as Mr. Ibu.

Additionally, he urged President Bola Tinubu to get in touch with the Nollywood star and assist him in getting out of his current situation.

Recall that Mr. Ibu openly asked for assistance from Nigerians on Wednesday, October 17, stating that he risk having his legs amputated due to an unidentified illness that had left him bedridden for weeks.

Deji Adeyanju, however, pleaded with President Tinubu, Peter Obi, and all Nigerians to make whatever contribution to preserve the life of the comedic actor in a video message posted on Wednesday.

“I also want to appeal to President Tinubu to kindly reach out to him and his family and help him and also to Peter Obi, who was aggressively supported during the last election to kindly support him.

“It’s not when something bad happens that people would start showing that ‘Oh Mr Ibu was a good man’. This is the time to really help Mr. Ibu.

“I hear that there’s about N6.5bn in the Labour Party presidential confers from the contributions we made in the last election. This is the time to use such money. Also, we can use from the EndSARS money, which is about $500,000 USD for good causes like this. God bless everyone. Amen,” Adeyanju said.
