Nigerian rapper Phenom, born Topa Onimowo, has shared a dramatic account of his past lifestyle, revealing how a devastating heartbreak pushed him into a period of extreme promiscuity before he embraced celibacy and religion.
Speaking in a recent interview, the hip-hop artiste detailed how an emotional breakdown led him to sleep with two hundred women in a single year, a lifestyle he sustained for two years.
The musician disclosed that the reckless period severely impacted his physical and mental health, leaving him with constant fear and repeated health complications.
"It was one heartbreak actually that made me just go crazy. It happened. There was 200 girls in a year at the time. So I did that for like two years straight. It was so bad. I didn't even have peace of mind. I felt like I had HIV man. If I should sneeze, I would feel like, hey, have I picked up something? It's not even just that. In two years, I had gonorrhea eight times. It was crazy," Phenom stated.
He added that the infections became so frequent that he started self-diagnosing his health issues at local pharmacies.
"It was so bad that I could diagnose myself. I'll go to the pharmacist and say I have this and that. They’ll say you are correct," he recalled.
The artiste explained that his life took a complete turn after a personal encounter prompted him to seek spiritual redirection and rebuild his relationship with God.
"It was until I met somebody that told me 'for you to attain certain things, you need to let go of certain things' and I got introduced to God. I also went to celibate for like 10 years before I got married. I didn't have sex with my wife until our wedding night," the rapper revealed.
Phenom noted that committing to a ten-year celibacy period and making significant lifestyle adjustments brought stability to his career, finances, and personal life.
"I didn't just change on that aspect. I changed in a lot of ways. I got closer to God. I saw how without God, you're really nothing. My business, my career, my finance, it gave me everything I was looking for," he added.
His revelations have drawn widespread reactions across social media, with fans discussing heartbreak, health awareness, and personal rehabilitation.
