Controversial street singer Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable has criticized his friend and colleague Davido for supposedly offering him "bad advice" at their last dinner in the United States.
The contentious street singer asserted that Davido, who once signed with Sony Music, encouraged him to sign with Empire rather than Sony Music and warned him against doing so.
Portable accused the singer of foul play, claiming that although Davido is encouraging him to sign with a label that might not affect his chances of winning a Grammy, he is also vying for the same honour as Davido.
He said: “You are signed to Sony Music, but you’re giving me bad advice in America to get signed to Empire and collect advance. The same Grammy you’re chasing is what I’m also chasing.”
Portable declared that he would rather have helpers who would sincerely assist him than listen to rumours or offer poor advice.
He added: “Olamide helped me directly, Skepta gave me a verse, money, shoes, clothes and still linked me up with big fashion brands. That’s the kind of helper I want from God, not someone who will be following mouth."
